RYS Architects is currently seeking a Job Captain/Junior Project Manager with a minimum of 5 to 8 years of professional experience in an architectural firm and experience with hospitality and/or residential/retail mixed-use projects. If you are an exceptional self-motivated individual with design skills, technical ability, Revit proficiency, have great communication skills, and desire professional growth in a small firm environment, we would like to talk to you.


You will be assisting an Associate or Principal and working as part of the project team or working independently depending on the project or phase. You will coordinate with the project team, consultants, and agencies having jurisdiction, and will be involved in all phases from design through construction administration. 


We are a 14 person firm in San Francisco specializing in hotel and residential/mixed-use projects. Celebrating our 27th year, we have a reputation as experts in our field and our projects range from local to national and international as we enjoy a steady flow of work from repeat clients. Our current projects range in size from a 7-unit residential/retail mixed-use project to a 12-acre master plan development including two hotels, a conference center, and retail buildings.

Additional qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
  • Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD, SketchUp, Microsoft Office, Adobe
  • Knowledge of Type V and Type III wood frame construction
  • Knowledge of Type I concrete frame construction is a plus
  • Code compliance analysis
  • Knowledge of ADA and accessibility
  • Knowledge of sustainable design practices; LEED certification is a plus
  • Work completed towards licensure
