SGPA Architecture and Planning is an established San Francisco firm with a sister office in San Diego. We are searching for exceptional candidates who are seeking long-term career relationships with potential for advancement.

Candidate responsibilities include: Preparation of conceptual design sketches and exhibits for mixed-use and retail commercial projects.  Selection of building materials and color palette.  Prepare 3-D conceptual design exhibits using SketchUp and Revit. Coordinate design work with Design Principal and Project Manager to ensure compliance with Firm and Client objectives. 

Candidate responsibilities include: Compliance with production budget, schedule and quality assurance (QA) objectives. Preparation of construction documents, including outline specifications. Detailed coordination of project Consultants and construction documents. Effective management and development of support staff and promoting the team concept. Confirm compliance with all governing codes. Assist Construction Administrator in review of shop drawings and submittals.

Candidates should possess the following skills: Strong technical/production background. Comprehensive knowledge in interpretation and application of building codes, including negotiations with agencies. Ability to identify, develop and incorporate the design intent into construction documents. Proficiency with Revit and familiarity with other industry software applications.   Proficiency in production research for outline specifications and in coordination of project manual.  Comprehensive knowledge in building systems, materials and their constructability including construction budget requirements.  Ability to record substantial decisions and milestones.  Ability to assist Project Manager through the bidding, negotiations and construction administration phases.

Candidates should have 5-10 years experience, possess a Bachelors degree in Architecture and be on track for licensure in the State of California.
