We are now seeking highly talented Document Controller to work on one of the most exiting corporate headquarter projects in the World, based in Cupertino.

This role requires the post holder to work within Document Control and ensure project information is both issued and received and then recorded in accordance with Foster and Partners procedures. The successful candidate will need to have excellent time management skills and communication skills. Primarily this role is to support the architectural teams with contractual milestones, consultants drawings and elements of contract management namely registration of submittals and RFI’s into the Newforma workflow.


  • To ensure the timely, accurate and efficient registration of drawings, reports, specifications, RFIs and submittals in Newforma project centre
  • To QA/QC check construction documentation for inconsistencies specific to clouding, deltas, revision formatting, title blocks, etc
  • To issue drawings, reports, specifications and schedules to clients and contractors using our DM system (Newforma) in both, hard copy format or electronic format to extranet sites
  • To ensure all milestone issues for each project are recorded accurately in Newforma project centre
  • To assist with the collation and co-ordination of drawings / documents in preparation for the date of issuance
  • To understand the life cycle of a drawing and status’s relating to each phase
  • To assist / co-ordinate architectural teams printing requirements where necessary
  • Promote info exchange as Foster + Partners standard to exchange information via the web
  • To contribute, or otherwise assist, as required
  • Thorough Knowledge of and compliance with F+P procedures and standards

  • Due to the nature of the position there will be a requirement to work additional hours as necessary, this may include weekends occasionally
  • QA/QC experience with construction documents or the ability to learn such skills quickly. This involves reviewing the design documents for inconsistencies specific to clouding, deltas, revision formatting, title blocks, etc.
  • Prior experience within a city agency that handles construction documentation for permitting, i.e. building, planning, public service dept. This would be preferred but not required
  • Prior experience with handling physical construction documents, preferably someone who has worked with a general contractor or design studio in the past. This would include experience with slip sheeting drawing sets, updating construction volumes and our active as-built drawings
  • To be extremely detail oriented and able to handle a heavy workload pertaining to data entry.
