Progressive New York architectural and design practice seeks Architect with excellent abilities in drawing, design, organization and communication skills.

We are currently looking for a Junior Architect with strong design and technical skills and 2- 5 years of experience.  The right candidate will be highly motivated; detail oriented, and will have excellent verbal and written communication skills.  This candidate will work with a Project Managers, Associates and Principals on several projects and will be involved in all areas of work. Primary responsibilities will be the production of AutoCAD drawings for all drawing types: Schematic Presentation, Design Development, Permit, Construction Documents and Construction Administration.

Additional Responsibilities will include:

  • Participate/Lead production of all necessary project documentation
  • Zoning and code research
  • Ensure company method and standards are carried out
  • Research & development – materials, systems, products, methods, etc.
  • Arrange client, contractor, and consultant meetings; create meeting agendas and record minutes.
  • Specifying and proposing finishes architectural interiors
  • Organize project records including design and construction drawings and specifications, budgets, contracts, field reports, photographs, and general correspondence.
  • Set and coordinate Arch. Team, client, contractor, and consultant schedules.
  • Occasional travel for site visits, client meetings, and related duties

Requirements:

  • Professional degree
  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD
  • Strong interpersonal and time management skills
  • Experience in high-end residential projects preferred

*Wood framed construction experience is preferred
