Jennifer Weiss Architecture provides custom architecture and design services primarily for single family residential, but on occasion also for cultural, corporate and academic buildings. We combine extensive experience in architecture and construction management, resulting in a distinctive design process and end product that are intellectually and aesthetically rigorous as well as financially informed. We are service oriented and have rewarding relationships with our dynamic clients. We have several exciting projects currently, most of which are at the early stages of design.

As part of a small office, successful candidates will have the opportunity to collaborate with a team to develop skills, assume responsibilities and leadership in areas where the candidate has previous experience.  We are located in a bright open office near the Embarcadero and Jackson Square neighborhoods, steps from the waterfront, shops and restaurants.


We are currently seeking an Architect with a minimum of 7-10 years of work experience.  Some experience in single family modern residential architecture is required.  Masters of Architecture are preferred and Bachelors of Architecture are also encouraged to apply.


  • Demonstrated project management experience with custom, single family home projects.
  • Construction document preparation, construction administration, and coordination with general contractors and consultants.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems.
  • Ability to move with ease between the different levels of the design process, from conceptual design to construction detailing.
  • Knowledge of building codes and prior work with Bay Area planning and building agencies.
  • Efficiency in AutoCAD, a proficiency in Microsoft Office, preferably in SketchUp and Abode Creative Suite as well.
  • Selected candidate will work with principal and will direct junior staff to develop, detail, manage and coordinate design and construction documents, often working on several projects at a time.

As an integral part of a team of 5-6 people, candidates must have excellent design, communication and interpersonal skills. We look for smart, talented, creative, positive, organized and self-starting individuals.
