Zeidler Partnership Architects is looking for a Marketing Director who thinks strategically and holistically to lead the Toronto marketing team. As a member of the senior marketing team, the marketing director is responsible for the following:

Business Development and Proposals

  • Manage qualification, proposal and presentation activities
  • Work with marketing and architecture/design team to develop proposals, scopes of work and estimate fees
  • Initiate and develop contact with potential clients and work with partners to secure new clients and projects
  • Develop client-contact program
  • Make commitments on behalf of the firm, with direction from the partners

Overall

  • Responsible for the firm’s overall marketing program
  • Establish marketing policies and procedures
  • Develop marketing plan and budget; determine marketing objectives to meet firm-wide goals; establish programs to accomplish marketing-related aspects of the corporate mission
  • Influence other aspects of firm direction and operations, such as production, finance, administration and human resources
  • Manage marketing and communications team
  • Mentor and train marketing and architecture/design team on marketing-related issues
  • Manage and partake in collateral materials development, public relations and advertising programs, corporate identity development and implementation, special events, digital marketing, direct-mail programs and market research activities
  • Plan and schedule marketing support activities to ensure that goals and deadlines are accomplished
  • Decide when and why to use external consultants, such as public relations or graphic design firms

Zeidler Partnership Architects is a Mac and PC environment. This is a deadline-driven, hands-on, full-time, salaried position. The successful candidate will have a passion for design and storytelling, and a consistent desire to raise the bar and innovate. 

Skills, qualifications and experience

  • University degree and at least seven (7) years of experience in the AEC industry required
  • Thorough understanding of AEC industry terminology, procedures and delivery methods
  • Thorough knowledge of marketing principles
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, content management systems; experience with database and collaboration programs is an asset
  • Strong design and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent leadership, managerial, mentoring and teaching abilities
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
