To be qualified for this position, candidates need a bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited program, plus 2-3 years’ experience within an office practicing a mix of residential and corporate interiors. Direct experience to both project types is preferred.
Experience in a fast paced environment is required.
Proficiency in AutoCAD is required. Rhino and 3DS Max will be favored. The desire and aptitude to learn Rhino and 3DS is required. Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office is a must.
Must be organized, comfortable in front of clients, and with the self-confidence to design and manage interior scopes within architectural projects.
Tasks will include: Space planning, FF&E selections through specifications, purchasing, installation and styling. Participation in CA, provide detailed working drawings, present to clients, and all.
Problem solving, thinking on your toes, and figuring it out is mandatory.
You must already be in NYC or very nearby for consideration.
Zimmerman Workshop Architecture + Design is a small, young office with a growing portfolio including some exciting new projects on the boards. Adam has worked at KPF and Renzo Piano Building Workshop, and is modestly molding our company to reflect what we think are the best of both offices at the small scale. We encourage design by all through models (both physical and computer), sketching, brainstorming, research and getting messy while still meeting deadlines with the expectation of superior work. We’re looking for a talented individual who can do it all and prefers the small office environment. You will work on multiple projects from concept through construction. In the small office, there’s no room for dead weight, so you will do everything.
