Andrew Mann Architecture is seeking a Project Architect.  The firm has an opening for a well-rounded, enthusiastic, motivated person to work closely with an experienced professional at a well-established small office. The firm specializes in the design of custom residential architecture, including both new construction and the renovation of existing homes throughout the Bay Area.  A crispness of detail, a richness of space and a sophisticated use of natural light characterize the office’s thoughtful design solutions.  A recently completed Napa Valley project has been published in the Premiere Edition of Luxe Magazine San Francisco.

Employment at Andrew Mann Architecture offers the candidate the opportunity to contribute to the design process, manage projects from conception through completion, mentor junior staff and be involved in the craft of architecture and building. For the right person, this position has the potential to grow along with the growth of the firm.

The main responsibilities for the position shall include participation in the development of single family residential projects from the schematic design phase through construction administration. This will require working with the project team on the development of design ideas, communication with clients, research of local codes, production of construction documents, guidance of projects through the approvals process and the resolution of issues that arise during construction.

Candidate must be a creative problem-solver, be able to work independently and have the management skills to balance the responsibilities of multiple projects at the same time.  Applicant should have strong design skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience should include the design, documentation and construction administration of wood-frame construction residential buildings.  Candidate must also be proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.

Candidate’s background should include seven to ten years of work experience and a master’s degree or bachelor’s degree of architecture.  The firm provides a generous employee benefits program including health insurance and a 401(k) retirement plan.
