Responsibilities:

primarily responsible for the documentation of the project, and coordination with the Project Architect.

Requirements:

Experience: 5-8 years

Development of Self

  • Accredited professional degree in Architecture. Master’s preferred.
  • IDP or ARE Registration preferred; on path toward Architectural Licensure.
  • Proficiency in latest version of AutoCAD; experienced with AutoCAD 3D and Revit; and 3D Programs such as Rhinoceros, 3d studio Max.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior staff members.

 Core Competence

  • Providing project team coordination for the finished plans, specification, and material selections required for construction.
  • Working with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives.
  • Experienced in Construction Documentation in most areas of the project.
  • Experienced in personnel supervision; lead a team of two to four drafters/interns by producing documentation with them.
  • Monitors drawing production as per the mark ups produced by Project Architect or Project Manager.
  • Assists Project Manager and Project Architect in the production of design development, design options and design alternates.
  • Prepares construction documents: may be assigned particular segments such as floor plans, sections, details, and elevations; lead the productions of other components from the team.
  • Knowledge of building materials, specifications and construction techniques.
  • Extensive knowledgeable of Building Codes, Local Law 58/ANSI 117.1, Barrier-Free and ADA.
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical systems to coordinate work.
  • Advanced knowledge of building systems to develop design details.
  • Reviews design documents for code compliance with project architect.
  • Ability to coordinate drawing revisions as necessary per coordination changes, change orders, building department comments, field revisions and design changes. Keeps complete and update record of all change as per office standard.
  • Prepares and issues written construction bulletins and narratives documenting changes.
  • Prepares and monitors submittals of distinct drawings sets for purchase orders, city approvals, marketing group and construction team.
  • Expert in File Transfer Protocol, file exchange amongst consultants, layer control, printing and off site reprographics coordination. Gain knowledge of LISP routines and manage project setup.

 Contribute to Team Success

  • Demonstrated experience in dealing with City agencies and Zoning Ordinances.
  • Adequate knowledge of architectural specifications and their coordination with design documents.
  • Participates in project meetings during Design Development and Construction Document phases.
  • Adequate experience in communication with Consultants, Construction Managers and Sub-Contractors.
  • Knowledge of Construction Process and strong capabilities to coordinate project documents with the contractor.
  • Ensure timely completion of working drawings that meet ILA standards.
