LivingHomes are available in standard or customized configurations to builders, developers and individuals.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a technical designer with 3-5 years of residential design and construction experience.  Candidates should be team oriented, have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work on several projects at the same time, and be based in the Los Angeles area. Project experience with a strong emphasis in residential and modern design is preferred.  Knowledge of and experience with sustainable design is a plus.

Responsibilities Include:

  • The daily design and technical development of projects.
  • Executing drawings from schematic phase through construction documentation.
  • Experience with permitting and contract administration.
  • Coordination of consultant drawings with architectural and factory drawings.
  • Communication with clients and consultants.
  • Tracking LEED for Homes checklist for each project.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of residential construction, especially construction detailing for Type V construction.
  • Basic knowledge of residential building and zoning codes.
  • High proficiency in Revit, including office/project experience.
  • High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Expert verbal and written communication skills, with team members, clients and consultants.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and work well within a team, directing junior members and taking direction from senior staff/

Helpful Qualities and Experience:

  • Experience with design and construction of factory-built structures.
  • Working knowledge of sustainable construction.
  • Experience with construction cost estimating and/or construction management.
