SoulCycle, a unique, upscale, boutique exercise studio and lifestyle brand, is looking for an intern to support the Manager of Design. Ideal candidate will be energetic, detail oriented, smart, highly personable, responsible and enthusiastic and will perform their duties with dedication and commitment.
JOB TITLE: DESIGN INTERNSHIP
STATUS: PART TIME
Assist in the management and oversight of SoulCycle design guidelines, product binder, product research, SoulCycle standard drawings and detail matrix
Assist with “special projects” to include: post open resolution, renovations, and other facilities initiatives.
Order material samples for presentations, finish boards, and the library.
Design and fabricate mood/materials boards as necessary. Monitor and organize the materials library. Scan finishes for archives.
Create lease exhibits, blocking diagrams (test fits), floor plans, interior elevations, and details in AutoCAD.
Become familiar with SoulCycle spatial requirements. Maintain “program comparison charts” showing square footages by area in existing studios.
Create multimedia (PowerPoint) presentations, spreadsheets in Excel, and text documents in Word.
Photography and graphic design: Photograph studios, edit images.
Upload hardcopies, print, and send out drawings to reprographics.
Circulate documents to consultants and package items for shipment and delivery.
Currently pursuing a degree in architecture or interior design and living in Los Angeles.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe CS, Sketch Up, Mac OSX and Microsoft Office Suite.
Highly organized with strong work ethic, strong management skills and ability to work well with a design team.
Ability to communicate and coordinate with product representatives and vendors.
Excellent design and aesthetic sensibilities.
Strong spatial understanding and strong hand-sketching ability.
Personal passion for the SoulCycle brand and/or fitness.
Must have a functional and reliable vehicle.
This position reports directly to the West Coast Design Manager.
