Based in New York City, Studio Link-Arc, LLC is an international team of architects and designers that collaborates across disciplines in order to work in multiple fields, including: urbanism, architecture, exhibition design, and the design of digital environments.  Currently engaged in the design of the China Pavilion for the 2015 Milan Expo, other on-going projects include: a private clubhouse and gallery, an archive library, two master plan commissions, and a European furniture installation and exhibition.

We are looking for a Job Captain to join our growing office. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and talented architect with strong leadership qualities.  The primary role of a Job Captain will be to plan, organize, and manage the efforts of the construction document production team and to provide technical leadership relating to the production of quality contract documents based on larger design goals and job specific requirements.

The Job Captain will be expected to:

  • Supervise and manage the completion of contract documents on schedule and within budget.
  • Manage the activities of a design and production team on a daily basis.
  • Deliver high quality drawings that can be easily interpreted by government agencies and easily utilized by contractors.
  • Manage client relationships in a manner that leads to satisfaction, great design, and repeat business.
  • Coordinate effectively with technical consultants including but not limited to: structural engineers, MEP engineers, civil engineers, and landscape architects.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Professional degree in architecture; professional registration preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years experience in architecture.
  • Extensive knowledge of architectural detailing, current construction standards,  and building systems.
  • Understanding of architectural design and related fields.
  • Expertise in AutoCAD and other graphic and business software and their application in development of design through construction document packages.
  • Knowledge of building codes.
  • The ability to successfully complete the permitting process with aid and supervision of the Project Manager.
  • Experience with construction administration, issuance of addenda and construction change directives.
  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Applicants who have worked at small to medium avant-garde design studios on medium to large scale projects will receive favorable review.
  • Proficiency in English and Mandarin strongly preferred.
  • Experience in China highly preferred.
