You have terrific design sense, that’s a given. You can balance scale and proportion, color and texture, lighting and backgrounds to develop livable spaces that elevate people’s senses and bring a space into harmony and balance. But there’s more to interior design than just a pretty room! You also know how to bring all that together within client budgets and timelines.
You need to lead a team, manage a client, juggle multiple projects and deliver success. Our designers have the opportunity to work on multiple projects in different regions at one time, keeping things interesting and innovative!
Mary Cook Associates was founded in 1986 to provide the highest quality interior design services to the builder & developer, golf, and recreation industries.
The firm is known for its ability to combine high quality execution with a deep understanding of demographic, geographic and historical influences to create boldly diverse looks specific to the needs of our clients.
We’re looking for top-notch design talent — you need to "wow" us with your portfolio. But an Assistant Project Designer at MCA does more than make a room look great, you need to have the resources and talents to do it quickly, often designing and installing a whole house in less than 60 days. We have a nationwide practice and our designers want to be there to finish what they’ve started, often gone for a week at a time.
Excellent written and verbal communication is essential to keep all the balls in the air. None of our designers succeed alone; you need to demonstrate your capabilities in building relationships with vendors, installers, clients and co-workers. AUTOCAD proficiency is required as is a can do attitude that keeps going until the task is complete, even if that means some long days.
Assistant Project Designers will be paired with an experienced person who will show you the ropes. But once you’ve demonstrated that you can do it on your own you will be leading your own projects, generally within the next 18 months. You’re not just one of the crowd here, you will have tremendous freedom to create designs that win awards, accolades and press coverage.
If you’re up to this challenge, have a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, and at least 2 years of work experience, you are the right person to add to our team. Show us your passion for design and drive to be a success in this field.
