The Department of Architecture at the University at Buffalo, State University of New York, is seeking applicants for a tenure/tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Candidates must hold a terminal degree in architecture and have a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching, research and/or creative practice. The successful candidate will teach required graduate and undergraduate design studios, required courses and advanced seminars. Teaching experience, professional registration, and an established program of research/creative activity are desirable.

RESEARCH: The Architecture Department is invested in four areas of research: Inclusive Design, Material Culture, Situated Technologies, and Sustainable Urban and Natural Environments. Research Groups

These areas are aligned with the larger university research mission of “UB 2020” which may be reviewed here.
Architectural Research

Candidates who can contribute to the advancement of research within the University and in particular within Material Culture and Sustainable Urban and Natural Environments in the Department of Architecture are encouraged to apply.

TEACHING: A curricular area of particular interest is building environmental performance, including teaching required environmental systems and performance courses. Candidates are expected to take a leadership role in the integration of this area within the curriculum.

The School of Architecture and Planning at the University at Buffalo is the only unit in the State University of New York system that offers the fully accredited Master of Architecture degree.
