LUANDA, AO

House in Luanda is based on the idea of taking advantage of the already existing local resources in a simple meaningful design that combines it with the basic self fazed built house idea that can be seen in the "musseques" (spontaneous neighborhoods) of the city. Countryside routines such as small animal creations or vegetable cultures are found here. The House as a general idea can be seen as a plugged device of several units being each unit a expansion of space necessities related to the current and local way of living and its financial result. This unit is the product of a scaled concept of the patio and pavilion archetype, having this way a sheltered unit and a open sky unit. ?The roof is designed to be an element to collect water to be used to irrigate and drink as well as a planting extension, exploring the introduction of "mosseque's" agrarian routines into the house and also as a natural climatizer. The house climatizing system is a special concern. The walls are made of wooden pallets and local adobe blocks made from the ground which act like a termic field.
