About 

Jim Kurt Ereño is a multidisciplinary designer with a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Design from the University of Manitoba (Faculty of Architecture). Since graduating in 2014, he has been involved in a number of interior renovation projects with emphasis on site analysis, space planning, universal design principles, branding, and technical drawing. He possesses a strong conceptual aptitude and has participated in competitions both locally and internationally. In his free time, he likes to read about and discuss history, anthropology, and current events.

Working collaboratively and efficiently with clients, licensed practitioners, and other designers from concept and schematic design to design development and construction. Determining material and labour costs relative to set budgets. Sourcing products locally (i.e. furnishings, lighting, and finishes). Constructing furniture and fixtures, such as shelving units and cabinets using power tools. Supervising and inspecting work in progress to ensure correct completion.

Carried out interior design projects that involved the whole construction of a commercial space within tight time constraints; demonstrated versatility handling a wide array of tasks. Conducted on-site measurements and produced as-built drawings and proposal documents for city approval and permitting. Collaborated with other licensed practitioners in the technical areas. Composed graphic branding elements and staged photo shoot for advertising.

Entry entitled "Pixelio" was selected for the Little Free Library Design exhibit at the Millennium Library as part of Winnipeg’s 2013 Culture Days. Project in collaboration with Emeil Andron Alvarez.
