This project mediates between the concrete rectangular boxes of Communist Poland and the traditional pitched roofed houses of rural Poland that are now experiencing a comeback in Polish Suburbia. It is rather peculiar that since the Polish adopted a free market economy in the nineties, the architecture of people's new homes started to look like a faux nostalgic regional style, apparently from before Communism, from a past that never was. Most of these houses actually come from catalogues where you can order your seemingly unique but generic home, designed by contractors rather than architects. House IV is a critique against these practices.
