About

Eager to be taught and utilize my expertise in the various fields that I am trained in academically and professionally to accomplish the tasks at hand.

Born into the Asante tribe of Ghana (the Golden Kingdom), I am the 3rd child of merchants Joyce Nkrumah and Daniel Agyei. My father a travelling merchant was fortunate to shadow an architect but could not practice it due to a lack firms within the country (there was a lack of building during those times). Inspired by the architectural works of my father, I quickly realized my passion for art. At the age of three I first utilized a pencil, “an artist greatest tool.” Living near the saw mill, I would construct models out of the blocks (refused/leftover). This was my introduction to modeling/architecture.

I was introduced to graphic design at the age of eighteen when I attended Bronx Community College. I faced many challenges concerning typography because of my abrupt immersion into digital design and my inability to lay out the designs properly. However, I excelled in my design classes by excessively studying the Adobe Creative Master Suite (Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator and Dreamweaver) to get ahead of the class. I am now a junior designer who spends my days studying. In the midst of preparing myself for a bachelor’s degree in architecture, I am also a freelance designer, who teaches high school students design through the Career Vision Institute, interns for the Caribbean Wellness resorts, work part-time for the Student Leadership Academy for Social Entrepreneurs.
