This project was completed in 2008 with design work started late in 2006.
I have assisted and lead many landscape designs on multi-unit housing developments, either in form of attached town homes or detached dwellings in a large communities, the design had to be done with large brush strokes due to construction constraints. From the developers' point of view, I can understand to meet the minimum landscaping requirement to save cost, but as a designer, it is not a "satisfying" experience.
This 12-unit condo development is one of the very few multi-unit dwelling projects that had a nice frontage with a lot of "unnecessary" designs like a dry riverbed, a small bridge veneered with stone, and a community mailbox with stone veneer matching the bridge. All wall and pilaster caps are not precast but pour-in-place, all done with acid-wash finish.
