Hello All! I am a recent graduate from Virginia Tech and am currently pursuing my architecture license. I have had working experience in China, the Netherlands, and the United States. All these unique experiences have left their mark on my design esthetics and have guided my interest in the design field. During my free time I dabble with photography, ceramics, and screen printing. I also try my hand at drawing and graphic design. My work is posted on www.hannahcao.com if you care to view. I enjoy running and playing tennis; a good balance to my love of baking and consuming sugary goods. I have had the privilege of traveling around the world. I frequently fly to China to visit family and to eat delicious spicy food. I also spent a year and a half in Europe for study, work and travel.

I participated in a preliminary design and research for a swimming pool competition in which the firm was awarded second place. I did research on facades, interior materials, wind screen construction, and case studies.

This summer internship helped to increase my experience in urban scaled design. I worked on Photoshop renderings, case studies, SketchUp, and AutoCAD drawings. The housing and mixed use projects were located in Shantou Hao Jiang and Qing Dao.
