My background is in architecture and urban planning, however, during the last 8 years I have been involved, through the Portuguese State, in the design and management of projects of urban cohesion and development, materialized on integrated projects of urban renewal and environmental upgrading, waterfront rehabilitation, as well as in the development of strategies for cities and urban regions, which manifests itself in projects of urban, economic and social development/cohesion and territorial competitiveness.
Highlight of my career was the integration in Parque EXPO (public entity under the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning - www.parqueexpo.pt) where I act as senior project manager on the Business and Projects Development Department until 2008; from then on up to today as Technical Regional Manager for southern Africa, where I ‘gained more experience and knowledge about diversity of planning systems, strategic development, and in policy and economy issues on different African countries. It´s also important to note the experience gained in 2009 in a field work at the service of UN-Habitat as team member for the development of the PSUP, a programme regarding the upgrading of informal settlements of 30 African countries “PSUP”.
Regarding my academic background it´s important to highlight the post graduate master's degree in "Urban Development and Reconstruction" from the University Institute of Venice (IUAV – Italy 2008/2010), the graduated degree in architecture from the University of Porto (FAUP – Portugal-1997/2005), and other activities, as specialization on real state evaluation by Escola Superior de Actividades Imobiliarias (ESAI – Portugal – 2012) and researcher in "Urban Waterfront Development" at the University of California Berkeley (USA – 2002/2003) and FAUP (Portugal – 2003/2005)
Passing 10 years since the beginning of my professional activities, in various fields and contexts of work at national and international level, gave me experience in projects regarding :
The experience in this field is reflected in a remarkable level of personal skills and techniques in resource management, in setting and meeting personal and team goals, in institutional relations management and corporative representation.
I would like to explore with you the possibilities of collaboration with your organization at local and global level, in particular for Portuguese and Spanish speaking countries.
I´m naturally available for any additional information or personal interview.
Kind regards
