Since I was a child, an array of landscapes has motivated my creative expression. As I child, I lived with my family on a sailboat for a year. My first encounters with nature and fractal patterns were recorded in watercolor paintings and clay forms, leaf boats and shell designs. In our ambulant domicile, I learned about the construction and economy of space; since there was no room to spare on our 28-foot boat, my parents had to be inventive with every inch. I’m excited by the idea of working within an economy of means like this, engaging the unusual act of making the everyday somehow extraordinary.
I received a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Emory University and a Master of Architecture from Georgia Tech. I continue to integrate art, design, architecture and writing in my work. My practice is characterized by a consistent creative vision and an iterative approach to solving each design problem.
