I am a senior architect with over twenty-five years’ experience in the design, management, and construction administration of complex, multi-phased projects of all types for the Department of Defense, General Services Administration, US Customs Service, and Veterans Administration. Of that experience, twenty years has been as a project manager, design manager, project executive, or associate. I have over fifteen years’ experience in the design of large- facilities over $100.0 million in cost. I have a thorough understanding of a variety of project delivery systems including design build, guaranteed maximum guaranteed fee and conventional design, bid and build.
While I am a talented, experienced, and skilled Architect, my true talents are in leadership, organization, and conceptual thinking. I can lead, organize, and manage large teams of professionals to prepare high quality, innovative designs on time and on budget. I am an excellent, coach, mentor, trainer, and morale-building leader. I take pride in being able to inspire teams of professionals to great achievement and self-improvement. I am an excellent planner, organizer, and management control systems developer.
I am also an award-winning designer, having won numerous awards from the AIA for design. In addition, projects under my direction are high quality, sensible and within budget. There are few problems during construction, due to my understanding of construction materials, techniques, and logistics.
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Design and a Master’s Degree in Urban Design from Texas A&M University, which is a NAAB, accredited University. I have a MBA in Globalization and I am currently pursuing my Doctorate in Health Administration. I am a registered architect in both Texas and California.
I am a LEED Accredited Professional, a trained Value Engineer and a skillful cost manager. I am an expert with specifications. I can prepare cost estimates in a variety of formats, using MS Project extensively.
I can prepare proposals, make presentations to them, prepare fee proposals and negotiate contracts, manage the contract monitor changes in scope and budget and insure a project meets its profitability targets.
