The 2017 Julius Shulman Emerging Talent Award was awarded to the Cal Poly Pomona team which consisted of Franco Chen, Zachary Green, and Hana Lemseffer.
Six Southern California schools partook in a two week charrette and proposed projects that were presented to a panel of renowned architects and practitioners. This year's prompt called for a modular, high density, multi-family housing complex in the city of Eagle Rock, CA. How does this high density complex interact with the lower density homes around it? How can this project be a catalyst to the community and spur that sense of community? How can modularity be incorporated into the project while maintaining a sense of individuality?
