In the design of a sales counter I understand that the space behind it (the employee) should be provided with a 5'D turning space, and the front (the customer) is fine with a common 30"x48" clear space. But I'm not really clear in the code... is it permitted to have only 30"W space behind the sales counter as well? I don't think an disabled person can move around in this space.
