I was wondering if any one can suggest zines being published by students in Arch. programs? I know of goo & : (colon) at GSAPP, but would like to collect more zines from around the world. Please contact me with any & all leads. Thanks you.
We've just released one for our MArch studio at Oxford Brookes (UK) as a catalogue of the exercises we did in the autumn semester for the other studios to get an insight into our culture.
Excuse my inability to pick up on the cool way to say things and the slang and vernacular or what have you... But is a "zine" a magazine? I know your asking for arch school publications, but is that what a "zine" is?
I'm from the University of Oregon and an editor at KTISMA Journal. We usually do one issue a year. We just released our fourth issue, entitled Inevitability. It's a good read, have fun.
The only student / school affiliated publications I saw there were Pidgin (Princeton) and the aforementioned Fresh Meat (UIC). I was at Michigan's open house recently and their journal Dimensions is solid too.
I am a former designer/staff/editor for Dimensions. I am not sure if you'd call it a zine because it's pretty heavily funded and pushed by the school, I think the same could be said of the other two you mentioned.
Hence my promoting another publication I worked on while at Michigan, Ampersand:

I think the kids these days are calling them blogs...
Guess that depends on your definition of a zine.
I think it's a little too wildly circulated to be strictly called a zine, but there is http://www.freshmeatjournal.org/
Close to my heart is http://taubmancollege.umich.edu/architecture/publications/ampersand/
The University of Oregon has a pretty new publication, KTISMA

I think they do two calls per year
How topical!

Where do we draw the line?
