Pratt vs. Syracuse

Hoping for some feedback to make a decision. I am on the West Coast with not a vacation day in sight so no open houses for me :/

My concerns are mainly art school vs university, location, networking ability and scholarship availability ( a question for those who go to either school). I'm still wait listed so we'll see what that does to rock the boat but for now, these are the two contenders :)

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I would say Pratt b/c of location and reputation. I know Syracuse has a good rep as well, but the location isn't ideal. Pratt is in NYC so I'm assuming you will have more opportunities. Also, I like the study abroad program at Pratt better, I don't know if that is a big deciding factor for you. But both are great schools, so you're good either way!

@Tanuja

Pratt is ridiculously expensive. But they are also really closed mouth and non committal about their statements concerning other opportunities to get $$$ in subsequent years. That's a little shifty to me. Hmm. Study abroad is a good thing to look into. Although I noticed Pratt doesn't have any semester options, only summer.

Any other opinions ? I'm really at a stalemate here :/

If you go to Pratt you'll learn nothing but software for a whole year

@laps3

what do you mean by that? Do you find that to be a pro or a con?

@thinkgreen

it depends on what you want from your master's program.

if you want to learn maya, rhino... then it's a pro
