Euro design culture Vs. American design culture

squaresquared

... Sorta kidding. Though American, I'm a big fan of the Dutch in general, having lived there twice in my life.

My favorite living architect is not Dutch: Shigeru Ban. Maybe it's time to start a Japanese vs. American or Japanese vs. European Design Culture Thread.

"with respect with universities and the work ethic of students please"?

That's a joke, right?

Here is an interesting paper about the ever-changing differences between American and European work/leisure habits:

I like architects paid more attention to detail design... like zumthor and gigon&guyer... it makes a building a huge difference when you see it and use it....

American architects generally do not pay much attention to the detail.. (off course Louis Kahn is an exception!)

european architects are generally more detail sensitive....
