Bachelor of Architecture

JGS14

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the forum and I provide any apologies if this isn't the applicable space to post such a thread. I'm looking for some input from Australian Architecture professionals.

I'm currently an Accountant in Sydney, Australia specialising in Business Advisory & Taxation (compliance such as financial statements and necessary obligations). I have been in this industry since I was 19 (now 29) and have done well for myself in my career. I'm now looking for a career change as it isn't my passion and I believe in the next 20 years or so that the industry will be susceptible to technological advances that may alter employment.

I'll cut to the chase - I'm interested in Architecture and I've been doing my research for a couple of months now as to what is required to make the change.

As I will be a mature age student; I have noticed a portfolio is required for entry to complete the Bachelor of Architecture. I was curious if anyone else has been in the same circumstance and would love to know the right avenues to gain the experience to build such a portfolio.

Thank you in advance!

Cheers,

Josh

Do you have a prior degree (Accountancy etc.)?

If you do, skip undergrad and apply directly to M.Arch I programmes. Portfolio still required but non-architectural stuff mostly. Check out ISSUU and search key words provided above.
