Is The University of Bournemouth's summer architecture program good? & Other summer programs

TuckerJ

Hi. My undergrad isn't in architecture so I feel like to get into a good grad school I should do an architecture summer program somewhere to build my portfolio, get some recommendations, etc. I was thinking it would be cool to do it outside of the United States, since I haven't been out of the country much. I saw this 3 week one (http://aub.ac.uk/courses/summer-courses/architecture-summer/) and was wondering if anyone has ever taken it or heard of it. The thing about it is that you don't really have to apply to get in. You don't need to send a portfolio or anything, you just pay to book your spot. This is making me wonder if it is possibly less impressive than other places I could go? I've seen a lot of ones that are around ten days at other schools and I am not sure if that is long enough. If anyone has any recommendations or advice about summer school programs please let me know! I am not totally opposed to doing it in the US, but if it were in the US I would want to do it in New York, Chicago, or somewhere in Cali.

Do the summer school at one of the Unis you are looking at for your masters' - if you want to go to Chicago - do Chicago - it will give you a taste of the school and the city -

If you're looking for a short intensive course - AA is the place to go -Visting schools -
