International Style Strip Windows - Sliding Always?

kojak

I'd like to ask readers, is it always the case that as per the Villa Savoie, the opening window portions of International Style windows are always sliding horizontal windows?  Do folk know of period examples where casements or other types were used?  Would readers agree that to replace strips that have sliders with casement or pivot or other such windows would disturb the serenity and composition of any international styl façade?  Thank you in advance.

There are plenty examples of international style buildings with other types of operable windows. the bauhaus comes to mind:

whether a renovation that changed the window type would damage the aesthetic of the building depends entirely on the specific design of the original and the sensititvity of the planned change. It would almost certainly be different, but maybe nice if done well. If it's a recognized work by an important architect such a change would almost certainly be unacceptable to most of the architecture community.

Sliding windows have a strong tendency to leak, regardless of what style architecture they are being used in.
