International students applying for H1B, please earn M.Arch instead of B.Arch

Five years ago I chose B.Arch because it's the fastest way to become qualified for architecture licensure.

But for international students who need to apply for H1B (US work visa), a master degree will give you huge advantage in the H1B lottery system. I recommend that If you want to increase your chance of getting H1B, don't do B.Arch, it's a stupid choice. B.Arch is intense and demanding, but the US government believes M.Arch graduates are way more qualified to work in the US compared to B.Arch graduates.

In 2014, people w/ US bachelor degree have around 30%-40% chances to get H1B, while people w/ US master degree have around 70%-80% chances (advanced-degree exemption).

In the near future, there will be more and more applicants competing for H1B, and if you do not get H1B, you can not complete the IDP hours because you cannot work in the US.

Why suffer from your NAAB-accredited B.Arch degree? Why pay so much tuition to US architecture schools if it will be more and more difficult to work in the US?
