Japanese Californian organic interior architect?

Ktime

A few years ago I was browsing through an architecture book and saw what appeared to be an organic style of interior architecture - twisted bare metal wood and glass, crowded more than minimal. I believe the work was possibly in California, by a male Japanese designer or architect. The work reminded me of bat wings, hobbit holes, H.R. Geiger.

Is this familiar to anyone here? Do you possibly have a name or a hint to this style? Much appreciated.
