Healthcare Design

jennalee

Does anyone know where to find healthcare design projects (i.e.: dental offices, hospitals, etc.) looking to renovate/re-design/re-build/expand? Also, how do companies find potential projects?

Many large hospitals have RFP bidding. Go to the individual hospital website and see if they have an open bids page. Many do.

What seems to be happening is that healthcare works with firms that are repeat experts in the building type. If you are one of those they will find you. If not no chance. Doctors are all joining healthcare conglomerates that provide their offices and they have facilities people who are mostly from construction and tend to gravitate to building type experts.

Dentists are a completely different breed and are historically cheap and DYI type people. Have seen some good stuff lately but this market is controlled by the equipment manufactures. The dentists go to them first to explore cost of equipment and they have in-house designers and they tend to take over the project – not being licensed they do tend to yield to us through the dentist – best way in is postcards with an example of your work – general blanket marketing.
