Work permit for architect

0

I'm an architect from Poland, with master's degree and some 3yrs of working experience, especially in commercial/office buildings (construction design, detailing, MEP/HVAC design coordination) and with proficiency in CAD software. My wife got a job offer in NYC and we're soon moving there, along with our kids. She'll receive probably E2 or E3 visa and we, as her dependents, will have a residential status but no work permit.

I'd be grateful if someone could tell me how hard is it to get a work permit for architect in NYC, especially through so called sponsor. Also, what is a market over there right now? Is it difficult to find a job for someone with my experience? What sort of salary could I expect?

Thanks in advance for all help!
