Does anyone know of any resources to download an indesign template to start building my architecture portfolio?

Uh, Do it youself? the portfolio is a design problem like any other, schools or employers are looking for a graphic quality and composition not only in the design work, but the layout of the actual book. Research ones you like, and then emulate their quality in yours.

Layouts are not important, just make sure you have drop-shadows on everything.

look online for portfolio styles you like/work well with your work. build your own based on what you have seen that is successful. The best layout is not the best looking presentation, but one that works with the orientation and attributes of your own projects.

Have a lot of tower projects? use a portrait page layout.

Need to get 10 projects into 20 pages? don't use some minimalist 1 picture per page layout

Have lots of renderings? use a layout that has enough white space to compliment them.

etc.
