Urban Salon has recently been appointed as exhibition designers for the National Gallery’s

winter 2014 exhibition, “Rembrandt: The Finest Years”. Urban Salon will be collaborating with

graphic designer, Martin McGrath. This project marks the first time that Urban Salon has worked

for the National Gallery.

The exhibition opens on 15 October 2014 and is organised by the National Gallery in

collaboration with the Rijksmuseum. The show focuses on the passion and innovation of

Rembrandt’s late works and will feature approximately 40 paintings, 20 drawings and 30 prints

including key works lent by European and North American museums.

Alex Mowat, Director at Urban Salon said:

“We are delighted to be working with the National Gallery to bring to life the genius, innovation

and honesty of Rembrandt’s later works.”

Urban Salon has created exhibitions for clients including the V&A, the British Library, the Science

Museum, the Barbican Art Gallery, Southampton City Council, the Imperial War Museum North

and the Crafts Council and is best known for creating high quality, atmospheric exhibitions. The

studio recently worked on the V&A Museum’s “The Glamour of Italian Fashion: 1945-2014”.
