“W h y   I   w a n t   t o   w o r k   f o r   y o u"

I am running for First Vice President at the AIA because I have seen the opportunity to strengthen the profession in several areas plus I have the background and ability to do so.

I n t e r n a t i o n a l:  The AIA is a leader and major contributor in setting professional standards in our globalized world. As past president of the Pan American Federation of Associations of Architects (a foreign architectural society with members in 30 countries), I have the background and knowledge to lead boldly yet with sensitivity for local cultures and their heritage.

D i v e r s i t y:  I have worked in the diversity field helping to shape what we, as architects, do and I believe there is much more to be done for our profession. Our diversity helps us make better decisions while we find unity in our profession. As a child of immigrant parents, I believe that we can prove that there are open doors in our profession, and I will strive to open these doors for all.

F i n a n c e:  As current National AIA Treasurer I know the AIA's apparatus and how it works with the connections to the components.  I support the knowledge committees and advocacy functions, both at state and national levels.  I know the connections to our business partners are very important. At this time of reworking the institute, it is important to have a leader with this precise knowledge and skill as we move to become more responsive and efficient in serving our members and our society.

T h e   P u b l i c:  Now is the time to escalate our focus on the external message of increasing public awareness of Architecture. We have taken steps that improve our internal processes.  Now we must promote the value of everything our profession does for our society, our world, and our future.

I have been a leader representing you at AIA, a firm owner and an Architect. I will hear your voice and take action as your President. I look forward to continuing to serve you.
