Culver City, CA
After tight coordination with the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, the Department of Water and Power, city planning agencies and the surrounding neighborhood, the Sierra Canyon Athletic Fields are now complete. The new facilities seat up to 300 people during football and soccer games, and up to 150 baseball spectators.
The most challenging aspect of the project involved resolving traffic patterns that would accommodate the needs of the new grounds while integrating automobile traffic, equestrian trails, bike paths and sidewalks. By working closely with the Chatsworth Neighborhood Council, Parallax Architecture and Sierra Canyon School were able to find a solution that preserves the aesthetic character of both the school and the Chatsworth community.
