Hoffmann Architects Announces Promotions in Connecticut Office

March 2015Hoffmann Architects, an architecture and engineering firm specializing in the rehabilitation of building exteriors, announces the promotion of members of its Connecticut staff.

Lawrence E. Keenan, AIA, PE has been awarded the corporate title of Vice President, in addition to his current position as Director of Engineering. Both a professional engineer and a registered architect, Keenan has been responsible for structural analysis and review, building envelope rehabilitation design, and construction details and specifications for Hoffmann Architects projects for 18 years. An innovator in the field of precast concrete structural design, Keenan holds two US patents for precast concrete connections and is active in industry organizations leading the development of improvements to precast joint systems. An owner of the firm and a key part of the leadership team, Keenan develops rehabilitation solutions to challenging structural engineering problems, with a client list that includes M&T Bank, Phoenix Life Insurance Company, Northeast Utilities, Seneca Niagara Casino, the New York State University Construction Fund, and BMW of North America. Keenan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Connecticut. He lives in Cheshire, Connecticut.

Benjamin J. Robinson, AIA has been promoted to Project Architect, in recognition of his technical qualifications. In the nine years since he joined Hoffmann Architects, Robinson rapidly earned promotions from Project Coordinator to Project Manager, and finally to his current position, working actively to advance his learning and experience in the field of architectural restoration and remediation. Robinson demonstrates ingenuity, a team-building approach, and sound judgment, which make him a relied-upon resource in solving building envelope problems. A founding member of the firm’s Training and Resources Committee, he is committed to the professional development of his colleagues and is responsible for organizing continuing education seminars for the company. With specialized experience in historic materials and construction styles, Robinson has a project list that includes the Dome of the United States Capitol, Wellesley College, Choate Rosemary Hall, the Aquarion Water Company’s historic Connecticut headquarters, and the Yale University Art + Architecture Building (Rudolph Hall). Robinson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Architectural Studies from Connecticut College. He lives in Wethersfield, Connecticut.

Founded in 1977, Hoffmann Architects specializes in the rehabilitation of the building envelope.
