The Nordbahnhof, or North Station site, straddles the border that once divided East and West Berlin in such a way that it accentuates the division of the city rather than diminishes it. In order to reinvigorate this area of Berlin and re-establish this node in the urban fabric, Vessel Studio has proposed the redevelopment of the station and adjacent vacant land into a richly dense and diverse cultural weave within the city. The programmatic bundling is at its most dense and most varied at the origin of the site, the subway station, while most open and yet specific at it's northern most point. The dispersal of use patterns across the length from south to north define the frequency of the site, as if programmatic typologies reverberate and dissipate to create pockets of activities throughout the day into the evening.

The program consists of a mixed use cultural film plaza with retail and residential structures interwoven gradually revealing voids that are used as parks and urban public spaces
