KMA has designed 10 new aircraft maintenance hangars and completely renovated 2 hangars. Of the 12 hangars; 6 have been designed specifically for helicopters such as the CH46, CH53 V22 Osprey and H-60. Ten of the hangars have been designed for NAVFAC, one for the Air Force  and one  for the U.S.  Border Patrol. The newest addition being for an unmanned predator aircraft. All of  these facilities included bridge cranes, maintenance shops, classrooms,  ready  rooms, lockers, AFFF fire suppression systems, briefing rooms and offices. Site features include aircraft parking apron, POV parking, GSE storage, detention ponds, airfield lighting, wash racks, aircraft fueling, roads, AFFF storage, utility relocation, grading and ATFP requirements.

Five of the hangars have been designed to LEED Silver and include sustainable features such as clerestory lighting in maintenance bays, water saving plumbing fixtures, recycled content materials, FSC certified wood, regionally sourced materials and energy efficient lighting and HVAC systems. Our hangars can be found at NAF El Centro, MCAS Camp Pendleton, Nellis AFB and Brown Field.
