DECA

This edifice is deeply inspired by the historic buildings that line the surrounding Park Boulevard corridor.  Deca is reminiscent of the glamour days of the late 1920’s San Diego Art Deco culture.

Located at 3740 Park Boulevard in Hillcrest, Deca captures the Art Deco spirit by completely reconstructing an existing storefront fashioned during the period. Many of its elements are incorporated into Deca’s overall design - from silver doors with round glass galley windows, to gridded glass block accents, prominent canopies, and commercial blade signage.

The building mass is set back from the storefront to reduce bulk and make room for generous outdoor living space. Each of Deca’s 37 residences offer patios, balconies and terraces ideal for entertaining. Some homes include multiple balconies, while others feature wraparound terraces that continue the Art Deco theme with smooth,  fluid, intersecting geometric shapes and angles.  A sunlit interior courtyard and lush common areas round out Deca’s retro-modern charm.
