The IHG project is located in the newly created Enfidha Industrial Park, Enfidha, Tunisia. The two industrial facilities are located on a 6.5 acre lot and share the same entrance and secure access.
Both buildings are conceived as open industrial platforms, a concept that allows for a maximum flexibility to accommodate different tenants without structural modifications and minimal utilities adjustments. The flexibility of the space and the systems will allow the facilities to easily meet changes in the production processes and the evolution of technology.
Sustainability and energy efficiency are important aspects of the design. The facilities are designed to reduce HVAC loads through passive means such as orientation, thermal insulation, compact footprints, proportions of glass and natural ventilation, high performance envelopes and green roof. Daylighting is provided in all the spaces through windows and light tubes. Advanced energy modeling allowed for the design of the most efficient systems to cover the remaining energy needs.
