This one-story three-bedroom house is a courtyard style, modular home. It is comprised of three prefabricated units assembled on site totaling 2,000 SF of living space. Prefabricating the 3 units in a warehouse allows for high-quality construction with less landfill waste. Sensitive locales are less impacted by the minimal on-site work that is limited to the foundation, building services, and the 400 SF garage. In addition, because of height limitations in transporting modular units, the main living area's roof is also constructed on-site, allowing for a more spacious interior environment. Prefabricated trusses allow the roof to have over-hangs appropriately sized to the house's orientation. The courtyard is an extension of the interior living spaces for the family and guests. It includes a terrace area, a pool and a relatively small landscaped area, while providing privatized outdoor space appropriate for even densely built neighborhoods.
