Grand Paris

Grand Paris Métropole Douce is a vision for the metropolis of the Post-Kyoto era, transforming the European City into a prototype for future urban developments. This project, commissioned by French President Nicolas Sarkozy to ten international teams of architects and urban planners, adresses the challenges of turning Grand Paris into a pioneering Grand Landscape evolving in accord with the Kyoto Protocol.
Grand Paris Métropole Douce grows from three concepts:
Dense | Light City
Global | Accessible City
Grand Paris | Landscapes
Grand Paris Metropole Douce has been developed by an international and multi-disciplinary team under the leadership of LIN. Experts in urban planning, the theory and history of the city, philosophy, architecture, ecology, climate change, mobility, and society worked together in a distributed temporary laboratory, collaborating with research institutes of the Boston MIT, the Oldenburg University and the TU Berlin.
