The Seidenberg Residence

Metcalfe Architecture & Design reconstructed this mid-century kit house, taking advantage of the pristine location set among the woods of Pennsylvania. Nestled in the treetops, we created a master bedroom bedroom oasis with a connector bridge made of steel and tempered glass, linking the master bedroom to the rest of the house. The addition of windows in the kitchen, dining room and master bedroom gave the client’s unobstructed views of their landscape and surrounding trees.

We used expansive skylights and interior windows to create a soaring, light-filled entry hallway that flood this modern day tree house with sunlight. For the exterior of the home, maintenance-free Hardie Panels defend against humidity and the naturally wet climate.

As our client attests, “Everyone who sees the house thinks it’s wonderful and says it is so “Barb and I.” Thank you for helping us create a very special place that we enjoy every day.”
