Workshop/apd converted a former industrial loft in the heart of New York City’s Garment District to a full-floor luxury residence. Consolidating core kitchen and bathroom functions at the center of the unit allowed the windowed exterior walls to remain unobstructed, letting natural light and spectacular views of Midtown Manhattan fill the space. The apartment is extremely flexible: oversized door openings, movable partitions, and a pull-out dining table let the owners reconfigure the space according to their needs. A movable partition wall between the two bedrooms can be expanded to enclose a third bedroom space. Sophisticated, elegant, and modern, the loft turns an historic industrial structure into a functional contemporary home.
