The Jourdan residence, completed in 2008, was a complete remodel and addition to an existing ranch style home.  Located on Coffee Pot Bayou in St. Petersburg, FL, the idea was to open the space up to the views of the water and embrace the backyard and its two weeping bottle brush trees while keeping the existing scale.  The addition enlarged the master bedroom and opened up the kitchen and living areas. Inspiration came from the owner’s extensive glass collection that helped create the framework of the design’s intent to carry light from one space to another. To maintain the openness, custom built-in cabinets, with LED lighting to display the glass collection, were used to separate living areas.
