Mountain House

RFA designed a retirement retreat with main house, guesthouse & shop/studio on an 8 A. wooded site in the high Sierras of Northern CA. The curved plan of the 4500 SF main house naturally sets into the sloped landscape optimizing mountain views and provides:
• grand 2 story high great room and den,
• 2nd floor artist’s loft studio overlooking the gallery & great room,
• central curved gallery with contemporary steel & reclaimed log columns,
• Natural cedar siding & custom copper roof,
• Limestone floors with radiant heating,
• Optimal daylight & cross ventilation,
• Optimal view terraces for outdoor living.
